What stays the same? For each branch, the core federal education benefits do not change.

• The GI Bill: The Post-9/11 GI Bill and Montgomery GI Bill are federally managed by the VA. Eligibility criteria, housing allowances, and national private school caps are identical whether you are in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, National Guard or Reserve forces

• The Standard TA Rate: Across the branches, Tuition Assistance covers up to $250 per semester credit hour with a maximum cap of $4,500 per fiscal year
