On our social media, we will do a Tip Tuesday each week for fifteen weeks! Below, you'll find each one lined out to help you navigate the best way to reach your applications full potential.
💡 Central Tip Tuesday #1: Start a Spreadsheet!
This is, without a doubt, one of the best ways to start out your scholarship application journey. You can jot them down on paper, OR download your own template from the "Forms & Documents" page on our website! (posted March 17, 2026)
💡 Central Tip Tuesday #2: Use Google Drive!
Essays can often be the most stressful piece of scholarship applications. When looking for feedback and advice, using Google Docs can be incredibly beneficial! You are able to get real feedback in real time from those you trust to read through your essay. (posted March 24, 2026)
💡 Central Tip Tuesday #3: Check the Calendar!
On Scholarship Central, there is a section where you can check the calendar to see the month at a glance and all that is due. Not only is this helpful in checking as needed outside of the lists, it's something you can add to your OWN calendar! (posted March 31, 2026)
💡 Central Tip Tuesday #4: Don't Ignore the Small Ones!
A huge mistake many seniors make is seeing a scholarship with a lower award and skipping over it. These are scholarships many will skip, leaving a better opportunity for you! Plus, adding together five scholarships worth $500 adds up to $2,500 before you know it! (posted April 7, 2026)
💡 Central Tip Tuesday #5: What Makes You Stand Out?
Scholarship committees and college admissions will have enough applications pass through that would make it difficult to remember anything other than unique information! Many of the same GPAs, dozens of the same names even. What makes you stand out? Why are you applying to this scholarship or college and how will it help you reach your future goals? 💡 Central Tip Tuesday #6: Stay Organized!
Using Google Drive can be one of the best ways to keep all of your important documents and information in one place! Even more helpful, you can access it on the go with it being in your Drive! Make a folder early on, such as beginning of senior year or end of junior year, to get everything squared away! (posted April 21, 2026)
💡 Central Tip Tuesday #7: Create a Brag Sheet!
What is a brag sheet? This is a document that you quite literally brag about yourself on! Including achievements, extracurriculars, and personal goals, you can give this to your teachers, counselors, coaches, admin, or anyone who you'd like to write a stellar, personalized letter of recommendation for you!
